Privacy & nonpartisan terms

What we collect

  • Attribution: the organization, source channel, issue, and mail route from the link you scanned (stored in your browser and sent with form submissions).
  • Pulse: your ZIP, neighborhood, city, and your top 3 ranked issues.
  • Voting plan: how and when you plan to vote — never who you vote for.
  • Questions: the text of questions you submit to candidates.
  • Contact (optional): phone and email only if you explicitly opt in for reminders and updates.

Why we collect it

To report the community's voice — in aggregate — to officials and candidates, to send you the reminders you asked for, and to attribute engagement to the partner organization that brought you in (for grant reporting). We never tie payments to voter registrations or turnout.

Who sees it

  • Partners and officials see aggregate data only — counts by city, neighborhood, and issue. They never see your individual responses.
  • Candidates see the questions you ask, but not who asked them unless you opt in.
  • We never sell or share individual resident data with campaigns.

SMS & email consent

We text and email only with your explicit opt-in. Opt-in is never required to view content. Messages are sent only between 9am and 8pm local time. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. We store the timestamp and source of every opt-in.

How to delete your data

Text or email us at any time and we'll delete your record. You can also clear your browser storage to remove locally saved plan and Pulse data immediately.

Nonpartisan participation terms

  • CivicLoop does not endorse candidates or parties, and uses no "vote for/against" language.
  • Issue explainers present the main positions fairly, reviewed by people of differing perspectives.
  • Candidate questions go to every candidate for an office; answers display alphabetically; non-responses show "No response yet."
  • No candidate photos, logos, or campaign links within issue content.
  • Partners agree to these terms at registration; co-branded materials may not add endorsements.

Questions about privacy? We're happy to explain exactly what we hold and why.
